For management and marketing consultancies it can mean more confident decisions to support brand or design strategy, for design consultancies the research is able to give scope for ideas from fresher perspectives.

Much of the recent design research has been visual; identifying user preferences and choices which have led to more effective marketing communications.

Design research can be in the form of written reports and offer strategies depending upon the need and user objectives and commissioning agency.

All research is bespoke and tailored to specific needs, it can give broad or deeper understanding of specific issues, while understanding experiences and facts rather than subjective opinion.
